Sumithra Vasudev | Carnatic Musician and Researcher
Dr. Sumithra Vasudev is a reputed musician, prime disciple of legendary musician Sangita Kalanidhi Smt. R. Vedavalli, and has been performing in the field of Carnatic Classical music for over 30 years. Sumithra’s music stands out for classicism and depth, while emphasizing manodharma within the lakshana framework. Tanam, Niraval, Vrttam singing and Ragam Tanam Pallavi rendition are special areas which portray her own style as well as her illustrious lineage. An A grade artiste of the All India Radio, Sumithra performs regularly in Chennai, other places in India like Bangalore, Kerala, Mumbai and Delhi, and abroad. She has participated in many of the well-known Carnatic music festivals like The December Music Season, Hindu’s November Fest, Aradhana festivals, Sangeet Pratibha organized by Sangeet Natak Akademi and the Cleveland Tyagaraja Aradhana.

Geoffroy Peeters | Professor

Geoffroy Peeters is full-professor in the LTCI S2A team at Télécom Paris. He received his PHDs degree in 2001 and Habilitation in 2013 from University Paris-VI on audio signal processing, data analysis and machine learning. Before joining Télécom Paris, he lead research related to Music Information Retrieval at IRCAM.
